Nikita R. Steals has been recognized for her 25 years of excellence as a Corporate Executive and Entrepreneur, marking a significant milestone in her career. Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in building and strategizing on global human capital programs, Ms. Steals’ most recent corporate executive leadership role was Vice President, Tech Talent Acquisition at Capital One, where in her first year of tenure, she led historical Tech hiring volumes that enabled Capital One’s Tech business to significantly strengthen its market value proposition toward attracting niche Tech talent across the industry. While with Capital One, Nikita also served as a Subject Matter Expert for implementing Objectives & Key Results and played a key leadership role in Capital One’s recent global expansion into Mexico City. Nikita’s expertise within the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (Workplace Civility) field have also been a key feature of her broad human capital skill set, and while with Capital One, she led the implementation of an unconscious bias training that further enables the inclusive hiring of diverse talent into the Tech talent ecosystem at Capital One. Prior to her role at Capital One, Nikita gained tremendous industry and market esteem through her culturally transformative and highly impactful leadership role at Amazon, where she led unprecedented global hiring volumes across AWS’s multi-billion dollar Infrastructure business, and in the process turned around a government hiring program in less than 6 months while also building a highly strategic, successful Workplace Civility program that enabled Amazon to significantly increase its hiring of qualified diverse candidates during Nikita’s tenure. Throughout the span of Nikita’s career, her leadership roles also included critical roles at Conduent and PwC, also establishing and leading teams to top performance while enabling the growth and diversification of some of our world’s largest employers. Nikita’s proven expertise across the human capital arena includes multiple skillsets: talent acquisition, OKR/North Star development, performance management, organizational development, Keynote Speaking and Workplace Civility. Nikita’s successful entrepreneurial pursuits include Divine12 Café, a restaurant she founded, then co-owned with a former partner to serve the dietary needs of those affected by severe food allergies. The slogan of Divine12 Café, “Food that Proves You Matter” quickly rose as one of Baltimore’s leading gluten free restaurants, eliciting significant media attention and a 5-star status. Nikita also founded Ascension12 Consulting; a global, niche recruitment firm where her team assisted mid-cap, Fortune 5000, and public sector companies in the hiring of top talent across the globe.

Nikita’s commitment to the community has been hallmarked by her loyal mentorship of aspiring leaders, her philanthropic contributions to the homeless and those impacted by domestic violence. Nikita also serves as a member of the Intelligent Leadership Coach Mentor Group, the International Humanitarian and Development of Professionals, JFF Corporate Innovation Council, the Global Keynote Speaker’s Association and she also holds a leadership role with the National Small Business Association (NSBA) where she will periodically testify to Congress on the critical needs of small businesses here in the U.S. Nikita’s most recent public accolades include being named as a 2024 finalist for the Top 100 Talent Acquisition ICON Award as well as being featured in Authority Magazine as a top voice in business.

To prepare for her esteemed career, Nikita earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, and prior to joining Carlow University in 1994, served as a volunteer freelance writer for the Beaver County Times in PA, where her front-page inspirational articles on social issues of avoiding drugs, remaining steadfast to goals and advocating against community violence, inspired thousands in Pennsylvania.
